Karen founded KMS Law Offices, LLC, after spending nine years as an associate at Pepper Hamilton, with the dream of delivering superior legal services to families in a comfortable setting with transparent and predictable fees.
Elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel ("ACTEC")in 2013, Karen currently serves on three committees: Digital Assets, Technology in the Practice and Diversity and Inclusion. Karen is a frequent lecturer and writer has spoken before the Probate Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council, and the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, as well as speaking at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She is a contributing author to Estate Planning in Pennsylvania (PBI Press) and has been published in the Philadelphia Lawyer and the Journal of Taxation, where her work has been routinely cited.
Karen was born and raised in King of Prussia and is a graduate of Holy Child Rosemont and Notre Dame Academy. She earned a B.A. (psychology and theatre) in 1991 from Bucknell University, an M.A. (theatre history and theory) in 1993 from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a J.D. in 1999 from the Temple University School of Law.
